Football fever is building across Lanzarote as Arrecife prepares to welcome more than 50,000 fans for a live screening of the Lanzarote World Cup Final 2026 this Sunday, 19th July.

Supporters are expected to fill the area around Parque Temático, where a giant outdoor screen will show Spain taking on Argentina in what promises to be one of the biggest sporting events of the year.

The city has already seen the demand for public screenings after thousands gathered on Tuesday to watch Spain defeat France 2-0 in the semi-final. The atmosphere throughout the evening was so successful that Arrecife City Council has confirmed the same setup will return for the final.

The screenings are being organised by the council’s Sports, Tourism and Commerce departments alongside the Lava Live Festival, giving both residents and visitors the chance to enjoy the match together in the heart of the capital.

Mayor Yonathan de León praised fans for creating a lively but respectful atmosphere during the semi-final. The council also confirmed the event finished without any significant incidents despite the large crowds.

Several local officials attended Tuesday’s screening, including Mayor Yonathan de León, Sports, Tourism and Commerce Councillor Eli Merino, Safety and Emergencies Councillor Kevin Cortés, and other members of the municipal government.

Spain secured its place in the World Cup final after overcoming France, while Argentina booked its spot by defeating England. Sunday’s match is expected to attract one of the largest public gatherings seen in Arrecife in recent years, with thousands of locals and holidaymakers expected to watch together.

If you’re visiting the island this weekend, the Lanzarote World Cup Final 2026 screening in Arrecife is set to be one of the standout events, with a packed atmosphere and plenty of excitement as Spain aims to lift the trophy.
