This is our blog, a place for honest opinions, personal favourites, insider tips and the odd strong view about the island we love. Less “here are your options”, more “here’s what we’d actually do”. An Honest Take On Lanzarote
There’s a place for a straight, neutral guide, and we’ve got plenty of those across the site, covering the beaches, the resorts, the attractions and everything in between. But sometimes you don’t want a list of every option, you want someone who knows the island to just tell you what’s good. That’s what Notes from Lanzarote is for. These are our opinions, warts and all, the places we send our own friends to, the ones we think are overrated, and the little tricks that save you time, money or a wasted afternoon.
What you’ll find here
We write about the things that genuinely make a difference to a trip. That means opinionated favourites, our top things to do, our best beaches, the spots we rate for a sunset or a plate of fresh fish, ranked and explained for rather than just listed. And expect a heads up on the practical stuff. Things like when to visit The Timanfaya National Park to dodge the queues, why you should always check the forecast before heading up to a viewpoint, which beaches suit families and which are strictly for surfers, and the local know-how you only pick up by spending real time here.
Half the fun of a good list is disagreeing with it, and we’d love you to take part in the comments. Everyone’s Lanzarote is a little different, and what we rank number one you might not even bother with, and that’s fine.
