The beaches of Playa Blanca are among the finest and most reliable on Lanzarote, and they’re a big part of why the resort has become such a favourite for family holidays. Within the resort you’ve got the small, central town beach, right in the heart of things and handy for the promenade cafés and shops; the larger Playa Dorada, a family favourite with breakwater-sheltered water and the Papagayo shopping centre behind it; and Playa Flamingo to the west, a calm, protected cove close to the big hotels. A little further afield, the golden coves of Papagayo, tucked inside the protected Los Ajaches natural park, reward the short trip by car, water taxi or boat with some of the most beautiful unspoilt sand on the island.
